Watch the V IV Wonderful online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Solo Factory: Chicago Blues

Here's another must know lick. The great thing about this lick is it can be used as a intro to tune, a V-IV-I turnaround, and an ending of a tune, so we can get a lot of mileage out of this one. As we can see the first bar the lick is almost exactly the same as the second bar just down a whole step. We start off by outlining the B7 and adding in a nice little chromatic run on the high string from C# to B and we also use the ubiquitous b3 to natural 3. The lick is then basically repeated down one whole step. We finish off with a classic Chicago blues turnaround.
