Watch the Blues in A: online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Slow Blues Power

This example is based on a 12-bar form but I’ve included a few twists in the chord progression in order to present some different soloing possibilities. At the end of the progression, in bars 10-12, the progression includes the bVII (flat seventh) chord, G, the bIII chord, C, as well as the bVI (flat sixth) chord, F, which provides the opportunity to create melodic ideas a little outside of the standard blues idiom.
