Bar 7 brings us back to the I (one) chord, G7, where I continue to take advantage of the melodic shapes located within the “B.B. box;” these notes also sound very effective over the ii7 (two minor seven) chord, Am7. Over Bm7 and Bbm7 on bar 8, I chose to switch to the G Blues scale (G Bb C Db D F), primarily because the sound of this scale provides a nice melodic balance against the G major pentatonic/hexatonic sound of the “B.B. box.” Notice that in some of the bends, I subtly blur the line between the minor third, Bb, and the major third, B.
