Watch the Flood Blues in G: online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Slow Blues Power

The next three examples of slow blues soloing are played in the key of G. G is a very popular key for slow blues, as some of the most famous slow blues were originally recorded in this key, such as T-Bone Walker’s classic, “(Call it) Stormy Monday,” Albert King’s “Blues Power” and Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Texas Flood.” This first excerpt is played in a style similar to SRV’s version of “Texas Flood,” in that it is a straight, traditional 12-bar blues form.
