Watch the Breakdown 4 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Slow Blues Power

Bar six continues the fast B Blues scale/open string licks, culminating with an expressive slide-up/bend on beat four on the A note, first string/fifth fret. In bar 7, back over B7, I play a series of unison bends ala Jeff Beck: a unison bend is an oblique bend in that, while a note on one string is fretted normally, a note on an adjacent lower string is bent up to the same pitch as the fretted note on the B string. Here, I begin with an A note on the B string and bend a G note on the G string up one whole step, sounding both A notes simultaneously, adding vibrato as well. I then descend the fretboard in unison bends, remaining within the structure of B Mixolydian (B C# D# E F# G# A).
