This is one of my favorite solos of the bunch for many reasons. First of all, you should definitely get familiar with the chord changes. If you already know the song "Old Love", just move the chords up a whole step and shorten the progression as I have. One thing to mention here is that we're in 4/4 time and not 12/8 or 6/8 like all of the other examples. I would consider this more of a straight feeling ballad.

I broke this solo up into two parts. The first part is straight blues and pentatonic playing. The second half of the solo starts in Measure 15 and introduces some Dmaj7 arpeggio ideas over the Bm changes. This is one of my favorite things to do because it twists the ear without sounding too jazzy. After that idea, I go right back to classic blues phrasing ideas to round out the solo. Again, I'm using that number 4 position on my Strat. That sound just works wonders over these types of songs.
