The things to really point out in this solo are the triplets that I've strewn throughout the example. As a Clapton fan, I've heard this style of phrasing over and over and I just had to put some examples of them in here. I'm not always a stickler for playing what's on the page, so just get the feel and rhythm of these triplet licks and take it from there.
Clapton is as an emotional bender as you'll find, and I tried to emulate that here. Good luck with this one. It's a lot of fun once you get it!
Clapton loved to use the Soldano SL-100 during this period. I even found some examples of his knob settings and got pretty close to the tone! Use the number 4 position again on the Strat and roll the middle tone knob back a bit to get some of the bite off of the pickups and you'll get pretty close to the classic sound.
