Watch the Augmented Arpeggio online guitar lesson by Jeff Beasley from Shred Ahead Blues Rock

Breaking the arpeggio into a smaller section gives it a more integral sound inside the pentatonic scale conveying a smoother resolution and allows for an easier execution. Taking any melodic idea and using smaller segments of it creates more continuity in the melodic line giving the listener the aural illusion of one solid melodic line. This particular fingering can also be easily sweep-picked and is easier to move around the fret board.
