Watch the Lick Vocabulary 6 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Progressive Blues Power

Moving up once more brings us to 14th, or 14th/15th position, so we begin with a look at E minor pentatonic and the E blues scale. Once memorized, move on to the licks, wherein I initially focus on starting with the top two strings, ala B.B. King, Freddie King and Eric Clapton, followed by melodic movement down the scale. In later examples, I alternately begin with the lowest notes in the position, and then start at the top, move down a bit and then work my way back up. Then try mixing and matching these licks in as many different ways as you can, with the goal of expanding your lick vocabulary.
