Watch the Back To Dover online guitar lesson by David Grissom from Open Road Blues
To start out the rhythm part for “Back to Dover,” I used the same voicings that I played in the head part. I get to a higher voicing of the same part in the solo section, staying fairly simple. The third chorus uses more variation, bringing in atmospheric and ambient chords that aren’t usually played with the blues. When playing something this expressive, it is important to stay out of the way of the soloist by not being in his register and turning down the volume on your part.
