Watch the Back To Dover online guitar lesson by David Grissom from Open Road Blues

This track is from my song “Dover Soul,” a two chord minor blues in D minor. I’ll take you through the head part as well as rhythm and solo options for playing over the track, breaking them down into individual choruses. In the rhythm section, we’ll start with conventional minor 7th rhythm playing, moving to some higher voicings and ambient chords not normally associated with blues shuffle playing. For the solo section, I’ll use the Blues Scale and open strings in the first two choruses, then taking a new route in the third chorus by using the Aeolian mode, contrasting this section with simple notes played higher to show that less notes can create more excitement.
