Watch the Cocaine Blue online guitar lesson by David Blacker from Lone Wolf Blues

This piece is a direct tribute to the song Cocaine Blues which is a classic old folk blues tune. Cocaine Blues has been performed by countless performers throughout the years and it's a great hauntingly catchy little number. To provide a little perspective on how old the tune is, Reverend Gary Davis whose version really made the song widely known, was rumored to say that he learned the song in 1905 from a traveling carnival musician, Porter Irving. So this song has some roots!

If you are a singer then I would recommend listening to a few versions of this tune and try to work it into your repertoire.

Recommended listening: Check out versions of this song by Keith Richards, Bob Dylan, Reverend Gary Davis, Jackson Browne and Dave Van Ronk.
