Watch the See See Baby: Ex. 3b online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Kings of Blues & Rock Vol. 8: Freddie King
This solo offers an excellent example of how Freddie King learned from B.B. King and moved into his own territory. The solo begins in a purely B.B. style, including the sharp sixth chord descending slide on the upbeat of beat two in bar 1, and the Bb-to-Bb maneuver previously discussed in bar 2. But bar 6 offers a repeated chromatically ascending phrase followed by expressive bends, and then bar 8 is devised of alternating pull-off riffs on each beat in the bar. These quirky pull-offs would soon become a staple of Freddie's unique style.
