Watch the Thrill is Gone online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Kings of Blues & Rock Vol. 4: B.B. King

B.B. King's "The Thrill is Gone" is a beautiful minor blues in B minor that ends with a variation on a standard 12-bar blues progression, as a vi (minor sixth) chord, Gmaj7, resolves to the V (five) chord, F#7. All of the lines played in this example are based on B minor pentatonic (B D E F# A), executed with a staccato attack and short bursts of vibrato. B.B.'s playing on his original recording of "The Thrill is Gone" is very emotional, so strive for a quiet intensity and deep feeling when playing these lines.
