These examples deal with accompanying in full chords. These chords might be of different shapes than you're used to. In Jump blues we avoid bar chords unless they serve a very specific function.
This is done because bar chords sound thick and cover a range that is being used by the bass and possibly other chord instruments. The thicker you play, the more you're in their way.
If we can, we'll use inner logic to remain in position as much as possible. Especially when you are also the lead singer, you don't want to be looking at your fret board continuously to make sure you grab the right chord.
