Watch the Rollin' In Your Arms: Lead 1 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 3

One of the goals with the solo is to evoke a "country"-type feel, so I use a lot of hammers and bends within major pentatonic scales in bars 1-8 to attain an upbeat, bouncy feel. Notice the somewhat subtle use of oblique bends in this solo, again chosen for the pedal-steel-like qualities of the technique. In the second eight bars, I move up higher on the fretboard to give the solo a sense of direction, again bring C major hexatonic (C D E F G A) into the equation. Most of the solo is played in straight eighth notes, which also helps to push the beat and create a forward-moving sense to the solo overall.
