Watch the Gimme Some More: Rhythm 1 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 3

The first three chords in the progression are C, Bb and F, and for each of these chords i play root/fifth and root/sixth version, fretting the bottom two strings for C5 and Bb5 and then jumping up tot eh fifth and fourth strings for F5. I like to use a "false hit" on the downbeat of beats one and three in each bar, so that a hard dead string accent is sounded in these places, which serves to strengthen the groove and lock in with the drums. The "false hit" is set up by an upstroke "rake" across all of the strings, which are muted with the fret-hand. On the four chord, I like to pull-off with the pinkie from F6 to F5, as this changes the feel of the articulation in a subtle way.
