Watch the Gimme Some More: Lead 2 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 3
The emphasis at the start of this solo is on bent notes, starting with a high D bent up one whole step to the major third, E, within a line based on C major pentatonic (C D E G A). The line descends to an A note on the B string that is bent up one half step to Bb, sounded together as an oblique bend with the high C above it, anticipating the change to the four chord F, as the bend is released to A; A and C are, respectively, the major third and fifth of F. I round out the phrase over F witgh a brief visit to F major pentatonic (F G A C D). I then stay with the major pentatonic sound over G with a line based on G major pentatonic (G A B D E), then, over the chorus, two-note harmonies based on sixths and fifths make reference to C, Bb, F and Eb chords.
