This first solo take begins with an A note bent up one whole step to B, the root note of Bm; when I release this bend to A and then down to G, it works perfectly as a means to connect the Bm and G chords via a solo line. When moving back into Bm, I can slide the G down one fret to F# and then continue through improvised lines based on B minor pentatonic. I also like to work oblique bends into the solo, bending A up one whole step to B and placing a fretted C or D above it on the high E string. Over Am, I can easily switch to A minor pentatonic (A C D E G), as most of these notes are also found in G major pentatonic, followed by sliding sixths that reference C and D, into fifths--G and D--over the G chord. Sling sixths are also used for the "chorus" section of the progression, as a means to connect the G, F and C chords.
