Watch the Rolling Rock: Lead 2 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 2
This second solo approach takes advantage of the technique of moving the initial melodic ideas presented in Example 1 up one octave, which serves to forge a thematic connection to the first solo example. C major pentatonic licks are resolved to G major pentatonic licks and sliding doublestops over G. Once again, I opt for straightforward melodic-type playing as opposed to something faster or flashier. This somewhat more deliberate approach affords me the opportunity to bring in different sounds, such as chordal arpeggiations, sliding doublestops and single-note riffs at will and in an easy, smooth manner.
