Watch the Gin Soaked Queen: Rhythm 1 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 2

The initial G5 chords are sounded by playing the low G note on the sixth string along with the open D and G strings, including a slide up the low E to B at the seventh fret, also sounded along with the D and G strings to sounds G/B. The following C5 and F/C chords are based on a barre the fifth fret across the D, G and B strings, and for these chords I bring hybrid picking into the picture, using the pick on the low strings and fingerpicking on the higher strings. The same techniques are applied to the A and D/A chords as well as D and G/D. The second time through the verse, on the return to the I (one) chord, G, I slide down from G to F on the high E string while also sounding the open G string, once again emulating the open-tuning sound. In the last two bars before the chorus, the notes of G major pentatonic (G A B D E) are used for their single-note lines; this scale is also used for the fills played at the end of the chorus section.
