Watch the Wilted Roses: Lead 2 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 2
Throughout the verse sections of this solo, I remain dedicated to representing each of the chords through specific use of notes and triadic shapes that reflect the D-A-G progression directly. At the chorus, oblique bends, played low on the neck over the A chord, are revisited, followed by low-note D major pentatonic and D major lines that include the use of open strings. This solo ends with a very melodic figure that directly quotes what I think of as the inherent vocal melody, which, compositionally, is always a great way to wrap up a solo section.
