Watch the Sweet Windy City online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 2

We are now ready to tackle the standard 12-bar version of a blues shuffle, and probably the most famous 12-bar blues shuffle of all is "Sweet Home Chicago," which was first recorded in 1937 by Robert Johnson but finds its root in the 1932 recording, "Kokomo Blues," among other possible influences. Traditionally played in the key of E, "Sweet Home Chicago" is standard fare at every jam session and remains beloved by guitarists of all generations.
