Watch the No Tears: Rhythm 2 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 2
I begin with a straight C major triad voiced C-E-G on the D, G and B strings, and then slide down one fret to sound a first inversion G triad voiced with the third in the bass (B-D-G). I can then easily move back up one fret to play a first inversion Am triad (C-E-A), followed by an index-finger barre across the D, G and B strings to sound a second inversion F major triad (C-F-A), expanded upon by additionally barring the pinkie across the top two strings at the 13th fret to sound additional C and F notes. For the chorus, I switch things up by switching to chordal arpeggiations (each note of the chord is played individually, and I slide down the fretboard when moving from C to G/B to Am to F).
