Watch the Sky Blue: Rhythm 2 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 1
Using higher chord voings as I do in this example serve to brighten the sound, and I begin with slides up to high E major triads fretted across the top four strings. I use the same type of voicing for D and then use a first inversion A triad, supplemented with a high E note. The second time through, I switch to D5 followed by a different type of A voicing, and follow with a repeat of the first figure. The fourth time through, I bring in sliding sixths that clearly describe each chord in the progression. Regarding the strumming hand, I keep the wrist loose and maintain a 16th note down-up movement throughout.
