Watch the Sky Blue online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 1
Staples of every jam session are songs of the Allman Brothers Band, the most popular being "Statesboro Blues," "Melissa," "Blue Sky" and "One Way Out." "Blue Sky" is a great jam tune because the solo section consists of just two alternating chords, the one chord, E, and the four chord, A. When playing rhythm, it's really fun to see how many different ways one can move from an E chord voicing to an A chord voicing. Likewise, the possibilities when soloing are virtually endless, and these next lessons will demonstrate some of the ways I like to navigate a progression like this.
