Watch the Heavy Load: Lead 2 online guitar lesson by Andy Aledort from Jam Night Vol. 1

This solo begins with a bend to the major third -B in the key of G - one octave higher than how I started the first solo example. The notes of the G major scale are all useful in that I can derive the chord tones of each chord in the progression - G (G B D), Bm (B D F#) and C (C E G) - from it for use in building melodic passages. For the chorus, I begin with a combination of sliding thirds and single-note phrases, and then switch to sliding sixths, starting very high on the fretboard, executed with hybrid picking: while using the pick to sound notes on the lower strings, fingerpicking is used on the higher strings.
