As you play through these three solos you'll notice the positioning is grounded in the VIII position Cm pentatonic scale. The important element to take away from this is what notes were added to make this happen. For instance, the 10th fret A that's used to propel the half step bends to Bb that are heard as b7s over the C7 is a note outside the scale BUT it bends to a note that is in fact in the scale. This is the same half-step-from-below move seen in Sussy Strut and Larry's Trick, but in a slightly different manner.
