Watch the Ford-ward Solo 1 online guitar lesson by Chris Buono from Guitar Lab: Blues Soloing
As you play through these three choruses keep in mind you have to make it happen in six bars. So, strive to make good on the hit-it-and-quit-it aspect of the solos in addition to the concepts that we've been building upon thus far. For example, in this first chorus there's really only two points of action. After the initial grace note hammer-on at the downbeat of bar 1 you start a nearly 2-1/2 bar run at the upbeat of bar 3 in the 1st bar. After that there's a little play in bar 5 into the downbeat of bar 6 - no more, no less. Examine the next two choruses and listen carefully to the video to see how this approach unfolds in the following two solos and take mental notes!
