Watch the SECTION 3: Performance Studies online guitar lesson by John Hatcher from Fingerstyle Blues Roots

In Section 3, we'll weave together the concepts and techniques that we covered earlier in the course. We'll cover four acoustic blues arrangements:

First, we'll get things going with a 12 bar blues in A called "New Kind of Old". This tune will reach back to the early days of acoustic blues but we'll throw in a couple of modern twists and turns to spice things up.

In "Snap it Up", we'll really drive the beat home in a punchy rhythm that's a ton of fun to play. We'll also work in a few cool chord moves and licks to get you moving around the fretboard

"Pickin My Blues" is a cool little ragtime based number with a chord progression that will keep you on your toes. There's a cool syncopated rhythm to hang a bright and tasty melody on.

Finally, in "Right on Track", we'll really dig into your ability to separate your picking among your fingers and your thumb. We'll do this in a cool little progression harkening back to Elizabeth Cotten's "Freight Train".
