Watch the Right or Ronk in E 2 online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from Fingerstyle Blues Factory
Hopefully, from practicing the individual licks earlier in the course, you’ll have whole two- and four-measure sections of this chorus already somewhat under your fingers. If so, you may want to focus on the transitions between those licks. For example, start playing at measure 4, and just go as far as the open A note on the downbeat of measure 5. When you can do that smoothly and in time, play measure 4 into the downbeat of measure 5 and pinch that first chord that follows on the second beat of the measure. Finally, practice playing from the start of measure 4 through the end of measure 5. When you’ve got that working, repeat the process on the next transition: play measure 6 into the downbeat of measure 7, then play from measure 6 through the second beat of measure 7, then all of measure 6 and measure 7. Then work out the remaining transitions between licks in the rest of the chorus the same way.
