Watch the Rosedale Blues in E 2 online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from Fingerstyle Blues Factory

This chorus incorporates a few of the more pianistic moves we’ve been over so far - the Delta E9 lick, the Buddy Guy double stops in measure 6, the 10ths in measure 7-8 and the I-VI-II-V turnaround at the end. Which raises a good point about where this all comes from and where you might look for inspiration going forward. There are many connections to be drawn between solo blues piano and solo guitar picking, so as you accumulate your stash of moves, see if you can’t filch a thing or two yourself from pianists. A chord sequence here, a blues lick there, a bassline somewhere else - even if you can figure it out note-for-note or fit everything you hear onto the guitar, the process of listening, adopting and adapting those sounds will benefit your playing immensely.
