Watch the Rockin' House online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Blues Guitar Fakebook: Rhythm Vol. 2

"Rockin' House" is basically a simplified version of the Stevie Ray Vaughan hit "The House is Rocking". Let's think about that for a second: That song was a hit, a 12-bar blues that was a hit on radio and MTV (when MTV played music). I miss those days! Anyways, what can be said about SRV that hasn't already been said million times? Absolutely one of the finest and most influential blues guitar players to ever live. Stevie was deeply steeped in the history of the blues, and heavily influenced by guitar players like Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Lonnie Mack (don't forget to check him out!), Jimmy Reed, and more. As we know, his career was tragically cut short in a helicopter crash, and I remember the day vividly.
