Watch the Single Exit online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Blues Guitar Fakebook: Rhythm Vol. 2

With the the blues revival of the 60's and 70's, bands like the Allman Brothers made their bones. An essential blues album is the Allman Brothers' Live at the Fillmore East, if you do not have this record, what have you been doing!! I highly recommend it, as it contains many blues classics, and is the great starting point for the Allman Brothers.

Now, "One Way Out" is not on that record, it's on Eat a Peach, but I just wanted to talk about that record. "One Way Out", like a number of songs on Live at the Fillmore East, was written by the great Elmore James. Elmore wrote tunes like "The Sky is Crying", "One Way Out", as well as performing classic versions of other blues tunes. He was also a huge influence on Duane Allman's slide guitar playing. In fact, on every slide guitar player!
