Watch the Slap Harmonics online guitar lesson by Geoff Hartwell from Guitar Lab: Electric Slide
This is another variation of how to sound natural harmonics. This time we’re actually going to strike the strings with a flat finger and physically “slap” against them to sound the harmonics, and then use the slide to bring the pitch up for another extreme pitch shifting effect. This is most useful when using two or three notes at a time to form a chord. Use the major triad that occurs naturally on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th strings first, and then look for some variations, such as the minor triad on the first three strings!
