Watch the Harmonics with a Slide online guitar lesson by Geoff Hartwell from Guitar Lab: Electric Slide
Natural harmonics happen all over the place on the guitar. Most commonly, we’ll hear them used at the 12th fret, the 7th fret and the 5th fret. In this case we’re going to learn how to move these around with the slide. Start by playing a natural harmonic at the 12th fret and then slide it up an octave. This is a great way to get extreme pitch shifting effects, like using a “Whammy” pedal, but you don’t need anything other than hands and a guitar! It even works on acoustic guitar!
