Watch the Blues Scale online guitar lesson by Geoff Hartwell from Guitar Lab: Electric Slide
Now we’re going to get into using the Blues scale across several strings. It’ll be important to locate where the notes occur on the fretboard, but even more so where to pluck and mute with your plucking hand. Start by playing all the notes except for the last one with the index finger of your plucking hand and get comfortable with that. It’ll take a little while to adjust to moving across the strings and keeping the notes clean, but it really is worth it. The more relaxed and consistent you are at the beginning, the more you’ll have a solid foundation when you move on and expand on these ideas.
