Watch the Minor Soloing 8 online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Bluesology 2
This lesson covers an altered dominant chord played in bar 4 which provides a strong "ramp" to the iv chord in bar 5. Another modification to the progression is the insertion of the ii7b5 in bar 9. This sound is common in a great deal of music and you'll learn how to handle the arpeggio and scale for this chord.
In part two of this lesson the bVI7 chord is played in bar 9. You will learn your options both harmonically and melodically. Finally the b5 sub of the V7 alt is explained.
