Watch the Dominant Soloing 1: 16 online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Bluesology 1

It's pretty obvious by now to see that we have been extending the available pitches for soloing over the blues by mixing pentatonic scales, blues scales, dominant 7th arps, and arpeggios with chromatic passing and neighbor notes. In this lesson we will throw in the 6th above the root of the chord into our arsenal.
You'll also notice that by increasing our pitch choices we increase our control for establishing the mood of our solo. Want to keep things dark and bluesy, use the blues scale. Want to sweeten and brighten the mood, use the major pentatonic and add the 6th to your arps.
Take advantage of the jam tracks and experiment with your growing arsenal of pitch material.
