Watch the Jazz Blues online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Blues Survival Guide: Rhythm Edition

At its core a jazz blues is really just a standard blues. The term "jazz" something up means to ad to it, so when we jazz up a blues we add some chord changes. To stay true to the idiom this one is in Bb. Bb you say! Well in many jazz situations we are playing with horn players, for them Bb, F, and Eb, is the equivalent of us playing in G, C, and D. Unfortunately it doesn't allow up many open chords but hey, we need to get out of our comfort zone.
