Watch the Gospel Blues 2 online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Blues Survival Guide: Rhythm Edition

One of my all time favorite blues records is Otis Spann's "The Biggest Thing Since Colossus". The recording features Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac as the band (minus Mick Fleetwood) and it is an amazing mixture of American and British blues. Spann was best known as Muddy Waters piano player who died very young, his vocals and playing are transcendent on this record. The guitars of Peter Green and Danny Kirwan are some of the best in the genre. Please do yourself a favor and pick up this recording right away. The usual response I get from people I tell the record about is "wow".
