Watch the Uptempo Shuffle Blues online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Blues Guitar Survival Guide - Lead

I am comping an Albert Collins vibe on this one and sticking mainly to an A minor pentatonic scale with an added natural 3rd on the back end of the blues. The trick here is the wide fast vibrato one that first held note, it isn't as easy as it seems. Once again it is about hand strength and control over the guitar. It is very easy to let that note get out of tune, something we all struggle with at times so it needs to be part of your practice regime. These finer techniques are the first to go if we don't work on them. It's much like going to the gym or running, we have to stay in shape. The real curve ball is live performance, that's when all this practice comes into play. That brings me to what I call gig chops. When we perform regularly these things become second nature. That reminds me, I have to book some more gigs...
