Watch the Jazzy Minor Blues online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Blues Guitar Survival Guide - Lead

Ugh! A blues disaster on my part! In my video I say Little Walter and Buddy guy, it was in fact of course Junior Wells. Of course I know this but in the heat of battle I faltered. I can see the emails now! Anyway... In this study we will cover the use of octaves and chord tones as the main goal. This one is a little jazzy sounding due to the Latin feel but it is a blues standard which actually started as a jazz standard by Kenny Burrell called Chitlins Con Carne. The Burrell version was not actually minor but Junior Wells and Buddy Guy switched it up to minor. Of course SRV did a fantstic version that was my intro to the tune.
