Watch the Minor and Major 3rd Bends online guitar lesson by Jeff McErlain from Blues Guitar Survival Guide - Lead
The big bends are always the toughest, they require some real hand strength and a commitment to your finger tips. It amazes me that SRV used such heavy strings and made these kind of bends but he certainly did pay the price by his legendary use of super glue to patch himself up.. It is interesting to note that most traditional jazz guitarist do not bend strings because of the string gauge but it is not indicative of the style. But in blues not bending is essential and must be honed.
