Watch the Grease Solo 1 online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from Slide Shop

Not much is known about the guitarist Robert Nighthawk, but he's responsible for some beautiful slide work that's well worth hunting down, particularly the Rocks in my Pillow record. He led a largely itinerant life, playing all over the South, didn't make many recordings, and wasn't "discovered" by the blues revival before his death in 1967, but he's considered to have been a significant influence on both Earl Hooker and Muddy Waters.
