Phrase 2 is a four bar T&V phrase. The initial idea here is bending G (b3) in an oblique double-stop at the beginning of each motive to help infer the E7 chord. Otherwise, unity is enhanced by resolving to the root in different octaves at the end of each motive. As before with Phrase 1, try combining Phrase 2 and it’s variation into an eight bar period.

Phrase 2 continues along the same lines as Phrase 1, but introduces a new lead an octave higher and varies the bass part with eighth notes. This time the lead scale is E pentatonic minor: E,G,A,B,D,E (1,b3, 4,5,b7,8). Be sure to check out the variation, as it features double-stops and also includes C# (6) in the scale for more of a Country sound.
