Watch the Wishin' online guitar lesson by Joe Deloro from Blues Rock Road Trip 2
Wishin’ is a slow tempo example patterned in the style of Pink Floyd’s, Wish You Were Here, from their album of the same name. Recorded in London at EMI’s Abbey Road Studios in 1975 and released in September of that year, it’s a great example of the guitar and vocal skills of David Gilmour. Although the original British blues rock tune was done on acoustic guitars and had a bit of country flavor, it carries over fine on electrics here. The 4 bar background chord changes are Em7, A7, G, A7, and Em7.
