Watch the Taxin' online guitar lesson by Joe Deloro from Blues Rock Road Trip 2

Taxman, by The Beatles, is the general inspiration for Taxin’. Like most of the Beatles studio sessions, it was recorded at EMI’s Abbey Road studios in London (1966) and features a signature one bar guitar and bass unison riff.

In this example the riff is stretched to a 4 bar T&V phrase and played by the bass. Like the original, it partially implies D7 by leaving out the third. This approach is similar to Rock Me Baby by B.B. King, and How Many More Times by Led Zeppelin.
