Watch the Low Down online guitar lesson by David Hamburger from Blues Alchemy

In the second chorus, I'm using two different techniques to mute the open position E6 and A7 chord voicings played in between the boogie figures. The first technique is the same one I'm using with the chords further up the neck: relaxing my grip on the strings just enough to choke off the sound of the chord. The other is to reach over with my left-hand pinkie and lay it like a damper across all six strings to momentarily cut off the sound.
