Watch the Minor Pentatonic online guitar lesson by Brad Carlton from Guitar Lab: Big Blues & Beyond
This lesson takes the E minor pentatonic 6th string root scale form and applies double-stops to the low and high sides of the fingerboard shape. These double-stops consist of every other scale degree and will involve four perfect fourth intervals and one major third interval. The major third will always occur between the b3 and 5.
I will show you various left hand fingerings as well as tips for applying hammer-ons, pull-offs and legato slides to these double-stops. You will hear me improvise over a jam track and then you get an opportunity to do the same. All scale forms and layouts are presented in color coded diagrams for ease of comprehension.
